Platter: Desktop CD Player

Platter is a desktop music player with a CD-player-style interface. Pick an album cover from a shelf and drag it onto the deck to see an animated 3D disc swap and a spinning disc. Despite its appearance, it does not play physical CDs.

You can play Apple Music without opening the Music app. With Spotify, Platter mirrors what is currently playing rather than acting as a standalone Spotify player. You can connect an account and switch between the two services.

For a smaller interface, the menu bar player provides play, pause, and skip controls. Platter also offers light and dark appearances and requires macOS 14 or later.
