NosyPup
NosyPup uses your Mac’s camera to detect people and send a photo and 14-second video through your own Telegram bot. Detection runs on the Mac, and you can monitor the whole camera view or a selected area.
NosyPup turns your Mac into a security camera that sends alerts when it detects a person. Point the camera at the space you want to watch, then monitor the whole view or draw a specific area. Each alert includes a photo with the person marked and a 14-second video.
Person detection runs on your Mac and is designed to reduce false alerts from changing light and shadows, though detection is not perfect. The app does not record audio or use face recognition. Recording starts only when you press Start, and stopping monitoring turns the camera off.
Alerts require Telegram and an internet connection. Guided setup helps you create your own private Telegram bot, and its key is stored in your Mac’s Keychain. Photos and videos go directly from your Mac to Telegram without passing through NosyPup servers.
Your Mac must stay open and awake while monitoring. Keeping it plugged in is recommended for longer sessions, but does not guarantee protection. NosyPup is not a certified alarm and should only be used where recording is allowed.
