Regex Forge

Regex Forge is a regular expression editor for creating and testing patterns against text. Matches are highlighted as you type, and a live replacement preview shows how a pattern will transform your text.

The Pattern Inspector breaks expressions into individual tokens and explains what each one does. A built-in cheat sheet provides a syntax reference, and a community-contributed library offers patterns for tasks such as email validation and date extraction.

The app uses Swift’s regular expression engine. Optional AI chat with ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini can explain patterns and suggest changes. This feature requires your own API key, and your queries are sent directly to the selected provider.

Pattern editing and testing work offline. An internet connection is required only for AI chat and access to the community pattern library.
