Luma Music is an offline player for music you own, such as purchased downloads and ripped CDs. On the Mac, it adds your music folders without copying the files. It supports FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, M4A, WAV, AIFF and Opus. Playback needs no internet connection or account, and the app does not include a streaming catalog.

Your library is organized by album, artist and song using the tags in your files. You can create playlists, group albums into collections, and use smart playlists based on listening history, genre or decade. A menu bar player, keyboard shortcuts, media keys and search accessible from other apps let you find and control music without keeping the main window in front.

Playback includes a queue panel, gapless playback, adjustable crossfade up to twelve seconds, a 10-band equalizer and volume normalization. Luma can display embedded lyrics or lyrics stored alongside songs, including synchronized lyrics that follow the music. It does not download lyrics from the internet.

You can also edit song details and cover artwork. For MP3, M4A/ALAC and FLAC files, those changes are written back to the music files rather than kept only in the library.
