1Capture is a native Mac app for capturing screenshots and screen recordings, then marking them up for feedback, explanations, or documentation. A single keyboard shortcut provides access to capture modes, including scrolling screenshots for long pages and conversations.

Annotation tools let you highlight text, add callout notes, blur sensitive details, and magnify areas that need attention. You can also remove backgrounds or use AI Erase to remove unwanted objects and blend the area into the surrounding background. Annotated captures can be dragged into AI tools as visual feedback.

For screen recordings, you can draw and highlight directly on the screen and use click effects to make interactions easier to follow. The app also turns screen captures into GIFs.

Other tools extract text and scan QR codes from the screen, while pinned screenshots stay visible as you work. You can add a logo or watermark before sharing a capture.
